Six day, a two song story

These are some notes to write an article about the vision of conflict in this popular song, then reshaped by Dj Shadow, then reshaped again by Machinedrum.

Machinedrum remix of Dj Shadow "Six Days" (2014)

Dj Shadow song (now remixed), is based on a song by Colonel Bagshot, a 60' Liverpool pop band wich released it inside the album "Oh What a Lovely War" in 1971. Lovely or not, the original song talks about the incompetence of politicians at negociation talks to stop the conflict escalation and the war following the negociation break down.

Late cold war scenario: Nasserist Egipt vs. Israel, winch in the interposed enemies warfare logic ment Socialism against Liberalism. All in the nuclear era systemic terrorism. Colonel Bagshot conclusions seems to be that political negociations can not prevent doomsday. A pesimistic view we can aply to today's worthless climate sumits.

Dj Shadow make a twist in the song signification, and it seems to be talking about 2001 riot's wave in England and USA.
